Should be an interesting battle between the Lakers and Heat for the next 5 years... I don't really see anyone come close to challenging the Miami Heat in the Eastern conference.

A big knock on Lebron is that he can't hit last second shots, now he doesn't need to with Wade on the team, Bosh is overrated but he's a legit top 10 player in the league. Mario Chalmers is gonna look like Rajon Rondo soon.

yeah they basically took the Eastern Conference's best 2 wing/attacking players and one of the top swing men and put them on 1 team. EC is ****** I mean if you got to pick 2 wings and a young combo 4/5 you'd have picked those 3 guys how are the other teams going to compete?

Orlando will have the best shot with their shooting and their one mismatch in Howard but Orlando relies on streaky shooting and Vince Carter is an unreliable 2nd so it's going to be rough

this is a Yao thread so I'll make that my last post on Lebron

Big Yao is back into China !!!

Actually he was back in Shanghai on the 16th, and showed up Monday morning (July 19) in Meilong training base of his team Shanghai MAXXIS Sharks to see and inspect the summer training results of the Sharks players by Bob Donewald Senior.

He will spend a few days in Shanghai, remote controlling the preparation of his Charity Gala/Game in Beijing and Taipei, as well as showing his face in a couple of Shanghai 2010 EXPO activities before travelling to Beijing.

http://v.sports.163.com/video/2010/7/6/9/V6B2CNN69.html

Interview of Big Yao by the reporters.

And Big Yao is just so full of wits and humor.

When a reporter asked him whether he can now change diapers for his baby girl, he said sure he can.

When the reporter further pressed him for specifics, he said: "If you don't believe me, just lie down, and I'll demonstrate it for you."

The reporter kept on repeating the same question.

Big Yao then said he can now change diapers and feed the baby girl (with milk) only with his big toe in the middle of the night without even having to turn on the lights.

The reporter said he did not believe him, and kept on asking him how.

Big Yao then said all he needed to do is to kick and wake his wife up with his big toe.

ROFLMAO !!! :P :D

Thanks Pry. Good to see he's still got his sense of humour.

Has there been any recent progress on Yao's performance on the court? He able to handle physical contact practice yet?

Naaah, in the interview with reporters in Shanghai, he said EXCEPT FOR physical contact basketball, he had been given green light by the doctors to add both contents and intensity to his training regimen/program.

THE GOOD NEWS WAS he had achieved GREAT RESULTS in his weight control. He had once ballooned to over 350 pounds during his recuperation. But in the past 3 months, with his strenuous rehabilitation training and stringent diet control, he had successfully reduced his weights by 20 KGs to become 310 pounds again.

And in the video of the interview I attached above, a reporter asked him how he managed to reduce his weight by 20 some kilograms, which was hell of fat meat, Yao Ming cracked a joke and said he needed to go to the markets/groceries to check what is the current price of pork meat, as obviously he had shed off alot of fat meat in the past 3 months through his hard work.

Geeeeeez Big Yao was a very busy man.

Soon after his activities in Shanghai, he flew into Beijing on the 19th (??).

He and Ding Junhui, the world renowned snooker champion from China were paired together in a shooting of a short film to publicize China Image on July 21.

And today (July 22) Big Yao attended the launch of the Chinese version of the new book Window Boy at the Celebrity International Grand Hotel.

The novel, Window Boy, was written by Andrea White, an American novelist and civic leader, and the wife of Bill White, the former Mayor of Houston, Texas.

The book, set in 1968, was a touching novel that tells the story of Sam Davis, a young man with cerebral palsy that peers though his bedroom window every day at the school he longs to attend. With great determination and the help of both his caretaker and his imaginary friend, Winston Churchill, Sam not only succeeds in gaining admittance to the school and the acceptance of his peers, but also fulfills his dream of becoming the school's basketball coach.
