Dwight is more popular than Yao. 3 million votes! Wow! 5 players (Dwight, Kobe, James, Duncan, Dwade) surpassed Yao's previous record.
Good thing Dwight plays in the East or else Yao would be the backup.

Well ONLY haters will say WOW !!! Dwight Howard broke Yao Ming's record in the NBA All Stars voting, which obviously somehow is controlled/rigged...........

Someone needs to explain why Bruce Bowen ended up winning over Carmelo Anthony, Dirk Nowitzki, Ron Artest and Pau Gasol , getting close to 900,000 votes in 3 weeks. For his dirty play???

Same for Luke Ridnour amassing that many votes to bypass Ray Allen and Gilbert Arenas, who are both established stars.

no explanation needed.

the undisputed best defender vs. others who are having off years.

stop embarrassing yourself, Arenas has been injured missing almost all the games so far. Ray Allen, in the sunset of his career, is having his 3rd off year in a row.

East conf has no other choices. Howard is the only choice. THat is why he broke the record.

Damn this is kind of sad. As a Rockets fan I didn't want Dwight to surpass Yao, and now he's even got his all-star vots record.

Yao's always had amare or shaq in the same conference as him. Right now Dwight has no one that famous in his conference. Thats why hes getting all the votes... If Yao played in a conference with every center being absolute crap he'd get all the votes too. Infact its going to be very interesting to see who the coaches put as backup center.

It doesn't mean shiit, because I am sure the voting is rigged by Mr. Stern.

C'MON  ............WHEN has the NBA All Stars become about who is the best defender?? It's ALWAYS a popularity poll where fans vote for his idols/stars.

So was Bruce Bowen voted in by popularity by his fans or for his dirty plays???

Don't tell me that sh!!!!!!!!!!!!!t that Bruce Bowen has MORE fans than Carmelo Anthony, Dirk Nowitzki, Ron Artest and Pau Gasol.

Chinese fans overseas are tired of Yao, they stopped buying his jersey and mass voting altogether. I guess that's what happens when u haven't won a playoff series and been oft-injured. I read in Yao's book that he mentioned something like "if u don't win a championship, ppl will forget u." Seems like that's the harsh reality. Yao can't enter the dunk contest and thrill the crowd like Dwight Howard. His game is too boring for all-star weekend. The only choice he has to regain his fame is winning a championship, anything else and they will forget about u.
