So after 2 consecutive back-to-back in the last week, losing 3 of them and finally winning an unexpected one on the defending champion, Boston Celtics, the Houston Rockets travelled to Oklahoma City to play the first leg of yet another back-to-back against the weakest team of NBA, the Oklahoma City Thunders before returning to Houston to play the 2nd leg of the back-to-back against New York Knicks.

For this game, Tracy McGrady is supposed to return to the line up.

It could be my personal bias. But let's review what happened in the past 2 back-to-backs.

For the 2 games that Tracy McGrady played, we were thrashed by Toronto Raptors, and also lost to Philadelphia 76ers. In both games, we played with porous defense and without much energy and intensity, even though both were supposedly the first leg of the back-to-backs with sufficient days of rest.

But in the other 2 second legs of the back-to-back, when Tracy McGrady chose to sit out to rest, we fought gallantly, with better defense, more slick offense and with more energy and intensity. We lost to the Atlanta Hawks only in the last seconds due to a 3-pointer form Mike Bibby, and we managed to spring up a shocker win against Boston Celtics on their home court, snapping their winning streak of 13 at home.

It could be pure co-incidence, but it could also be reflecting that due to when Tracy Mcgrady played, the focus of offense sort of shifted to him, and since he played with an "injured" knee, he could not do alot of things that he used to do, like penetration, that he could only rely on his jumpers or defer to his other team mates by passing/assisting. And as a result, the offense became stagnant without much no-ball movement, and in defense, he became a liability resulting in opponents having a field day in exterior perimeter penetration and shooting.

I hope Tracy McGrady would prove me wrong in my analysis, tomorrow in the game with Oklahoma City Thunder because the victory in Boston would become meaningless if the Houston Rockets could not beat Oklahoma City Thunder who sits at the bottom of the Western Conference, and has the worst win/loss ratio of the 30 NBA teams.

Not sure whether Ron Artest will play in this game. If Ron Artest persists to play, I wonder whether Rick Adelman will start Von Wafer in the shooting guard position and Ron Artest in the small forward position, and start Tracy McGrady from the bench to lead the 2nd tier players, or he will pitch Tracy McGrady against Kevin Durant, who will probably be giving Tracy McGrady alot of trouble given Tracy McGrady's injured knees and his porous defense.

Anyway, this is a MUST WIN or else the previous hard earned victory over the Boston Celtics will become meaningless.

GO Rockets Go. Go Big Yao Go.

As expected, once Tracy McGrady played, the Houston Rockets took big steps backward. Offense is stagnant and defense is porous. ZERO FG% versus 55 FG%.....

14 ~ 7 the Oklahoma City Thunders took a 7-point lead in 6 minutes of play.

They simply need to win this game. Otherwise, a win against the Celtics is really meaningless.

1Q ended.....24 vs 24 tied.

Tracy McGrady sort of woke up after the Rockets fell behind at mid point of 1Q by 7 to 8 points.

He had a 13-point quarter so far.............

But still the whole team's offense seemed not clicking, and the FG% is very low....31% (5/16 FG%).

The defense improved a bit towards the end of 1Q, sort of suppressing the hot-shot Thunders from 55% FG% to now 47.5% FG%.
