Landry adds an extra dimension to the Rockets. Without him there's nobody to finish McGrady's passes when he's coming off a pick or attacking the basket. Hayes is to short and Scola usually catches if he thinks he's in traffic and tries to pump fake, post up, or do something else. Landry brings something the Rockets have really been lacking for several years. A big who can elevate and finish a play quickly.

Great observation, Daniel. -- John

huge win.
this is a game where having Yao/Deke could've hurt us defensively.
thank god Landry came back in time. without him we def. lose this game
and tmac finally played better

I agree with you that Shane Battier was an unsung hero in last night games - just as he has been in almost every game. His work ethic is incredible; playing his heart out day- in and day- out. If the result of his effort isn't showing up in the scoring column, it is because he is putting his hand on the face of a jumper trying to prevent him from scoring.

Boy, I love this guy! No wonder he was on the US Olympic team.

I think the one thing that Adelman could be doing himself is to be more aggressive with his substitutions. Pretty much this whole Rockets team is streaky, and going with the hot hand is probably the best idea.

I'm not as angry about not seeing Mutombo - if the Warriors had started shooting 3s, it might have gotten out of hand. Plus, no matter how awesome he is, every 60 year old needs a little rest now and again.

I agree with you about Adelman needing to be more aggressive with the subs.

Regarding Dikembe, I thought about the 3-point factor. If Yao Ming had been in there and the Warriors started raining three-pointers, there's not much Yao could do to guard those, but you still keep a big man in there to stop against layups since layups are always easier to make than 3's. Guarding against 3-pointers is really more about effort from the perimeter guys you have in there, and if they can't get the job done, you tip your cap to the other team similar to other teams have had to do to Houston during their win streak. -- John
