Wow, I can't believe it's been 14 years since the 15-game winning streak and first championship. It just seems like yesterday that Sam Cassell was a young, bright-eyed, alien-headed kid. Now all of a sudden we're both turning into middle-aged geysers.

Thanks for making me feel so old. ;-)

Where the hell did all that time go? I vaguely remember Scottie Pippen wearing the Rockets pajamas, and some guys named Maloney, Kenny, Kelvin, and Cuttino -- as well as some guy crying about getting drafted by Vancouver -- playing for the Rockets at various times. But it's all kind of a blur now.

Seriously, though -- thanks John for all the great posts, and all the work with the site. Great, intelligent, thoughtful observations. Your posts really help me get a much closer feel for what's going on with the games and the team -- much closer than what I can get from the mainstream media, esp. since I no longer live in Houston.

And this streak really has helped take the sting out of losing the big guy for the rest of the season. Here's to the Rockets avenging a 14-year old grudge against the Hawks. I'll be happy with a nice round 20 wins.

Anthony, thanks a ton for the compliment. I really appreciate the kind words. I'm glad my posts are bringing more depth and insight than what is currently available. -- John

John,

Did you catch the Halftime show? Brooks, Hayes, and Novak all had hilarious impersonations of Deke. You should embed the video from YouTube, so that everyone not from Houston can see it. Good stuff.

Yes, I saw it. It was hilarious. Unfortunately I didn't record it, but if someone else did and put it on YouTube, I'll embed it on the site. -- John

John,

In term of the color commentator, are you talking about this guy that was smoother gliding on the court than behind the mic?

D

Yup, sure am. I can't take it any more. -- John
