I hate to say it, but we don't pay Yao and Tmac how ever many millions to not be able to hit big shots in the clutch.

It's amazing how alot of big shot makers around the league haven't made that much money, like Robert Horry, in comparison to "superstars." Or how guys who used to hit big shots who can't hit them any longer are still getting paid like they can (McGrady). I'd rather stop trying to put a square peg into a round hole and win rather than force the issue and lose. -- John

I suggest give the ball to Aaron Brooks in cluth shots since he has done it several times in college to win big games!!!
Start Luis Scola in the starting line up instead of Hayes and play AB more minutes!!!
YAO + SCOLA + AB= ROCKETS NBA CHAMPIONS!!!

I'll disagree strongly here. Yao has hit many big shots throughout his career in clutch moments, let's not label him a choker just because of his failed delivery the past few games. Sure, Yao isn't and will never be MJ or Kobe when it comes to having a penchant for clutch shots, but to move away from him on purpose is a blunder. No one makes every clutch shot or FT they take, it was the greatest clutch player of them all who said he's missed 26 game winning shots and you can't be afraid to fail.

i remembered watching micheal jordan played. to many he might be the king of basketball, but sometime i saw him made bad plays and shot terribily in some games only to have his great teamate bailed him out. and i noticed that phil was not mad or about to take him out of the game, rather he smiled and laughed so the game continued on. i also noticed the same treatment phil gave to kobe. this is my summary - more encouragements = many many attempts = equal (one) basket. well let's throw in selfishness and big ego too.

I'll have go disagree here, John. I think the latest hiccups by Yao late in that games are anomalies. Statistically speaking, he's still the best FT shooter, I'd rather have the ball in his hands, have him get fouled, and goto the line. I like our chances there more than Head or Battier jacking up a three after the ball has gone around the horn. Dump it into the big man and let him goto the charity stripe, I say.

I totally agree with you that Yao is not the person who should have the ball late in the game or never be given the ball.
What is going on? First thing he can't beat fronting defense which is annoying to watch . Even a rookie could take him off the game. Now he can't have the ball late in the game because he chokes.
I heard his Mom is a great clutch shooter. How come Yao?
I never heard of a great player who chokes late in the game. These is where great players are tested if they are for real, where stars become superstars.
I hope and pray that someday Yao will have that "confidence" that he would be unstoppable, develop a swagger, scare his opponents, tell the people in the building " Calm people, Yao is in the building and nobody mess around with my Rockets!!" As the saying goes:
"The game was already won before it started "

100% agree with you, John. Those four deserve a chance, especially with current records. I don't see much improvement of the old guys for the rest of the season. It's hard to get rid of old habits. I see no killer instinct in any of the starters. Let see what those new guys are made of.

Great writing , John. Wish you all the best and a speedy recovery.
