Wow. If you had told me this summer that through 25 or so games, that Luther Head and Aaron Brooks would knock Francis and James to the curb, I would have said you were crazy. I'm shocked. However, Brooks is showing that he fits better than both of them. The worry I have is defensively. If Brooks and Head are in the same backcourt, we have two guys who are extremely undersized for their positions. It reminds me of when Jerry Stackhouse took David Wesley into the post three times and scored three times to start off THAT game 7. Love the win though.

This Rockets are driving me nuts:) You never now what you get from them, hahaha, but I loved it when they play great.

BTW, John... This whole Magic-Talk thing led me to do some soulsearching - am I a Rockets Fan or a Yao Fan? As for now, I am both, if Yao doesn't play I still want the Rockets to kick butts. However, I asked myself, what will happend if Yao really change team, so unreal it sounds like?

I guess, my heart will follow Yao, although the Rockets will still have a soft spot in my heart. I hope this will never happen though.

How about you John, ever contemplate this (scary) possibility? This site is named Yaomania.com after all, not rocketsmania.com ...

Just curious :)

And since it's Christmas... thank's for all the work you have done this 5(?) years, your site is one that I visit everyday, my wife teases me always about this, haha. Except if the Rockets lose or play bad - than I'll need some time first before I'm ready to read some objective game review.

BTW... Bill Simmons keeps saying that Yao is a rich man's Rik Smit :p All offense but li'l defense, especially one-on-one. How ya think, since Simmons is usually quite objective, as long its not about his Celtics. My opinion is, in the right system, Yao plays a great defense, but one-on-one, I don't know...

Have a nice holiday for you and family, hopefully the Rockets can give us more smiles!

Hi Wendy, great questions. I just don't ever see the Rockets trading Yao. I think he'll be a Rocket for life unless the Rockets become so bad closer to the end of his career, they do him a favor and trade him to a contender, similar to how Minnesota traded Kevin Garnett to Boston this off-season. But when that happens, or if for some reason he no longer became a Rocket, I would still watch Yao and try to keep YaoMania.com going. But it's hard to say since I'm also a Rockets fan. I might try to do both -- like start a Rocketsmania.com as well as YaoMania.

Regarding the Rik Smits comparison, that's pretty extreme by Simmons to make that comparison. I don't recall Smits having much of a low-post offense at all, whereas that's where Yao scores most of his points. The main thing they have in common is that Yao can also hit a jump shot and is an accurate shooter. I think Yao's defense is also better than Smits, as well as his passing. I'd have to be shown video of how Smits played to remember, but the fact his game isn't all that memorable tells me something.

Thanks for visiting the site every day, and for the holiday wishes. You have a nice holiday, too!

When Tmac limits himself 15 shots a game, good thing happens.

I absolutely agree. -- John
