Yao,

Are you still growing and is it true you really are 7-8 without shoes?

It seems this 2-3 inches you have grown the last couple of years has really made you unguardable and helped you more than anything else.

"Quote of the day to Yao Ming."

"Slam it with authority! No more layups!" Let his opponents know that he is the biggest frame in the low post and that no one can stop him.

I would like to ask Yao Ming:

(1) What did you learn from the practice with Dream after the season. Do you plan to have regular session with Dream from time to time?

(2) One of your big fans thought that you should focus more in the summer on continuing improvement of your professional basketball. Too much other activities going on.

(3) How frequently do you communicate with the new coach?

(4) What is your goal(s) this season? What do you think if your personal statistics will go down a little bit in turn of scoring, but your team may win more if you grab more rebond to reach 20/10 this season?

(5) Now, you are the only Rocket who has been at the Houston in the past 5 years. What leadership you will provide? How you will mentor the new teammates?

(6) Now you have been in the NBA for 5 seasons, time passes so quickly. You are not a kid any more. Do you think you reach the peak of your career? What areas you can still improve? How to improve your physical endurance when you are getting older and older?

(7) What do you learn about the prevention of injury?

(8) We hear that sleeping is very important in restoring your energy and you have slept in short (or unconfortaable) bed in the hotels when the team is on the road. Do you think this is a factor for your performance on the road?

(9) When you play in the city in high mountains (such as CO, or Utah), do you think to inhale oxygen will help your performance?

(10) We hear that your left ear has hearing impairment. Have you ever consulted a doctor to see if they can do something to improve your hearing - which may also improve your physical balance?

(11) One last quesion is about the team chemistry. With so many new players, what you will do to shorten the stage of forming team chemistry as the only player who has been wearing the Rocket uniform in the past 6 seasons?

(12) Have you ever thought of moving back to Nike so that you can be consistant with the CNT's endorsement. When you put Nike shoes, not so many injuries (this is the Fan's observation).

Sorry for so many questions. We fans have great expectation in you and the Rockets in this new year. We wish you win MVP and Rockets win first place.

I would like to know if you prefer FIBA basketball or NBA basketball if salary and number of games were the same. Which style do you think requires more skill and team play?

Yao, You've made steady and substantial improvement each year in the league. I'm curious as to which areas you intend to focus on improving this year? (Scoring, rebounding, play making, ..?). Related to this, what specific things did you learn from CD that you think will make a big difference for you this year?

The Houston Rockets made great additions to the roster this season with Francis,James,Aaron,Scola etc But do you think replacing Jeff Van Gundy was not a good dicision. Jeff Van Gundy coach a 52 winning game season with many injury's and missing pieces in the Rockets.

Yao, you only have a few good years left considering NBA standards as far as age is concern. Would you ever consider leaving the Rockets and go to a team like the Los Angeles Lakers? I think you will do well there...having Kobe and having a good team supporting cast. It will make your life easier, where you are not relied on as the score maker as much. McGrady is a nice guy, but unfortunately he has a bad back and trust me...I am a Chiropractor and backs don't get better especially since he is getting older. I just don't see you winning a championship here in Houston and believe me, I like the Rockets. They did add Scola which will help you, but they don't have a good point guard that will dish out to you or make plays. Rockets need a strong point guard i.e., baron davis, steve nash, paul, kidd, or parker. Forget about the Chinese Loyalty, where you stay with the company or team for life. You want to not only be remember as the best center to play, but a player to win the championship. Look at Ewing, never won a championship....you don't want to look back and say...I should of. It's easier for you to leave to a team that you can make a difference, then wait until the rockets get a supporting cast.

A Yao Ming Fan,

Richard, it's an interesting point, but if I asked a question like that, I would not be allowed by the Rockets to come back! Reporters just don't ask that kind of question unless maybe the player asks to be traded. We'll have to wait until that day happens.
