On Yao’s comment, I believe in the long term, by forcing Yao to be physical at low post is very good for his development, and I still think there is much room for improvement for his low post game. I think it’s easy to think that good passing will make his game much easier and he doesn’t have to muscle all those guys at the low post any more, but for his own development, he needs to take the hard route. However, after 4 years, Yao is starting to be predictable, maybe now it’s a good time to diversify. Let’s hope this Adelman experiment will work out fine.

From John — Wang Meng seems to be the Chinese writer that is very speculative and writes some very questionable things that supposedly Yao has said. As a result, I don’t post anything that Wang Meng writes. Raymond mentioned to me that another writer from Titan Sports wrote this piece who is much more reputable — Yang Yi — who outranks Wang Meng at Titan.

From John — What Yao is saying is that since JVG never let him play anywhere else than the low post, he’s going to have to start sharpening his passing skills and face-up jump shots. I say, “Hallelujiah!!” Yao showed he was very skilled playing away from the basket in his rookie year with Rudy, but when JVG came he basically didn’t care about those skills and never let Yao use them. What a waste that was. Now maybe Adelman will let Yao be more of himself, while also letting him play in the low post alot
