Watching the playoffs, I realized why Rockets should replace JVG for next season. Statistically, Rockets probably won the three games by luck. All the stats are not that far apart. Jazz, on the other hand, beat Rockets solidly in those two wins. Rockets is not likely to win a championship this way.

That was why Boozer was defiant at the losses.

I am a die-hard Rockets fan. Sometimes it was painful to watch Jazz running play after play. It got all the easy baskets. Meanwhile, Rockets either laboriously spoon-fed to Yao, or T-Mac took a 30% chance shot. The only Rockets’ play seemed to be that T-Mac cut to the basket and threw it out for a 3-pointer. You know that combination does not come often.

Beside the offensive plays, Rockets let Jazz shoot at a much higher percentage than Jazz let Rockets. Here goes the playoff test for JVG's defensive plays.

How many times we saw that Rockets, often it was Yao, got the jump ball but the opposing team got the ball when the dust settled. It was a turnover on the coach. Another case is when the other team started to foul in the last a few minutes of the games, all TV announcers were talking about putting the ball in Yao’s hands because he has the 86% FT percentage. It did not happen until recently… There are just too many loose ends in JVG’s coaching. Maybe this suggestion is too cold-blooded, JVG served his purpose. For Rockets to win a championship, he should be replaced.

Very good analysis. Much of what you write has merit. If the Rockets don't beat Utah in this series, Leslie Alexander may agree with you.

having rockets win in utah is highly improbably. even though im a rockets fan, i must agree with this article by saying that the chances of rockets winning at Utah is "slim".

Perfect match,and best result!
And We Rockets cann't and won't give Jazz any chance to return to Houston!
I firmly believe Rockets will defeat Jazz at 4:2
